About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Critical Care Nurse to join our team in Surgical Services. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide high-quality patient care, educate patients and families about their health and treatment options, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and develop individualized care plans that address their unique needs and goals.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and implementing interventions to promote healing and recovery.
- Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies to promote healthy behaviors and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, communicate effectively, and ensure seamless transitions between care settings.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient interactions, assessments, and care plans.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience working in critical care or surgical services, preferably with a focus on perioperative care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing patient needs and priorities.
