Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program that supports the faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting. This role requires supervision and age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students as part of the extended day program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program
  • Supervise and provide age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students
  • Work in a team environment to support the faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting
  • Meet the qualifications and requirements outlined below
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • One to three years of childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Education full-day early learning program and related legislation
  • Knowledge of ALCDSB-related policies and administration procedures
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate in a sensitive and courteous manner with children, parents, staff, and the public
  • Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful, and emergency situations
  • Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate Catholic programs
  • Basic computer skills, strong organization, and time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and time, move/carry equipment for the program, and physically assist children as required
  • A Catholic Pastoral Reference or a Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate with a Letter of Faith is required

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $24.03 per hour.
