About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to provide quality patient care at a Long Term Care facility. As a Health Care Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks related to activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • De-escalate residents in stressful situations
  • Work as a team to ensure the comfort and safety of patients
  • Assist with organized activities or programs
  • Observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families in stressful situations
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills within a team setting
  • Maintains a standard of high-quality care, self-directed and motivated

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with seniors and cognitively impaired individuals
  • Ability to utilize safe transferring and lifting equipment
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Non-Violence Crisis Intervention training
