We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to join our Investor Relations and Co-Investments team at Thorek/Scott and Partners. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in strategizing and executing on capital-raising activities and co-investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Investor Relationship Management: Proactively manage investor relationships for our private funds, executing on strategies to raise investor awareness and understanding of our business.
- Capital Initiatives: Participate in strategic capital initiatives, including raising co-investment and capital raising, and work with senior management to coordinate strategic initiatives with key investors.
- Strategic Communication: Actively engage in the formulation of key messaging to the market and be an effective communicator of this messaging.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Be a subject matter expert on our firm's activities by participating in internal investment and asset management meetings, and communicate those activities effectively to investors and the market.
- Prospective Investor Outreach: Participate in prospective investor outreach, including educating prospective investors on the merits of investing in alternative investments.
- Investor Inquiries: Manage inquiries from existing and prospective private fund investors, including responding to RFIs, RFPs, DDQs, and ad hoc requests.
- IR and Capital Raising Materials: Oversee the preparation and dissemination of IR and capital raising materials, including investor communications and updates, investor reporting, presentations, offering memoranda, case studies, and fact sheets.
- Client Relationship Management: Liaise with Client Relationship Managers globally with respect to the ongoing maintenance of existing private fund investors, including presenting to investment committees and boards as required.
- Investor Base Development: Support the build-out and ongoing maintenance of our firm's investor base with private banks, family offices, and RIA.
- 10+ years of experience in investing/asset management, investment banking, corporate development, or investor relations.
- Strong transactional experience in private markets and investments, including direct and co-investments.
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance.
- MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
- Clear history of working with private fund investors.
- Experience with renewables, power, energy, or infrastructure an asset.
- Able to manage a team of individuals and demonstrates a commitment to shared success above any personal accomplishment or recognition.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization.
- Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations.
- Proactive self-starter who is able to handle pressure effectively and has experience working with senior management teams.
