Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. in Crescent Valley, BC. As a Loader Operator, you will be responsible for loading material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks, operating a wash plant, and performing daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks.
  • Operate a wash plant for safe and quality-minded operation.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary.
  • Keep facilities clean and tidy.
  • Maneuver heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions.
  • Participate, accept, and adopt the principles described in the company safety program.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated.
  • Capable of working independently, promote a positive and safe work environment working collaboratively with team members & other management in the field in a physically demanding and fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more, ability to work in extreme weather conditions, confined space & heights, and possess the required PPE and steel-toed work shoes.
  • First Aid & WHMIS certificates are considered an asset.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
