Job Title: Apprentice Mechanic

We are seeking an Apprentice Mechanic to join our team in Thunder Bay, ON. As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will assist Journeyman Technicians with vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring our fleet is safe and reliable for our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs under the supervision of a Journeyman Technician.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmission clutches.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
  • Notify supervisors of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
  • Assist with road calls and emergency services as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Previous gas or diesel vehicle repair experience; school bus experience is an asset.
  • Must have a suitable mechanics tool set.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
