Job Title: Electrical Systems Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Technician to join our team at Electek Industrial Service. As an Electrical Systems Technician, you will be responsible for testing and observing electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment, troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components
  • Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
  • Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts
  • Perform on-site servicing and repair
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance

Work Environment: This is a physically demanding role that requires manual dexterity and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to bend, crouch, and kneel frequently.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in electrical systems maintenance and repair
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
