Senior Corporate Accountant

The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a key role in preparing and presenting consolidated financial statements to executives, owners, regulatory bodies, and other financing parties. This includes working with subsidiaries to coordinate and maintain month-end reporting deadlines and preparation of working papers that facilitate analysis and review, providing support for commentary on the results. The position will also engage in other projects and activities as necessary to the role and as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and working papers.
- Analysis and review of results to support commentary.
- Drafting commentary for various statements and reports submitted to stakeholders.
- Maintenance of accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Participation in year-end audit of Corporate financial results, including creation of schedules to support the drafting of notes to the financial statements.
- Coordination of deadlines with subsidiaries to ensure timeliness of reporting.
- Leadership or participation in special projects in the finance area.

- Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation.
- Interest and experience with current IFRS developments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and business acumen.
- Ability to manage in a multi-task environment.
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Initiative-taker with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Great Plains and the transportation industry considered an asset.
