JD Sports Canada: Allocator Job Description
The Allocator role at JD Sports Canada is a strategic position that plays a vital part in our inventory planning and forecasting. As an Allocator, you will work closely with our planning, buying, and warehouse departments to ensure sales goals are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Allocations Duties:
- Collaborate with the Buying and Planning departments to ensure distribution strategies align with our departmental goals.
- Review and optimize auto-replenishment processes to ensure all stores are fully ranged and stocked, providing a premium consumer experience.
- Review and optimize option counts and inventory levels in stores to meet or exceed sales and margin expectations.
- Consolidate stock within stores and distribution centers to maintain retail locations' premium status.
- Work with the team to highlight opportunities and trends within the retail landscape.
- Create tools and reports to manage allocation processes effectively.
- Support the team as needed with additional analysis.
Product Administration:
- Create and manage options in the stock management system, including ad-hoc changes.
- Work with brands to obtain UPCs for option creation.
- Create and submit purchase orders to brands in line with our sign-off process.
- Manage the order book and ensure accurate on-order reporting.
- Communicate and chase ETAs from brands on a weekly basis.
- Communicate late or cancelled purchase orders to relevant teams.
- Manage back-ordered purchases.
Development:
- Support in building range plans.
- Support in developing visual decks.
- Assist the merchandising department with ad-hoc projects or analysis as needed.
Requirements:
We are looking for an individual with 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, excellent communication skills, and intermediate computer skills, including MS Office applications. A good understanding of inventory planning and the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data will be an asset.
