Sovereign Insurance is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Risk Engineering team as a Senior Risk Consultant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments on commercial and farm properties, identifying risks and exposures, and providing expert recommendations to our underwriting partners.

About the Role:

  • Conduct thorough risk evaluations through site surveys to identify and assess loss exposure, hazards, and controls.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for loss prevention improvements through analysis of construction, occupancy, protection, exposures, hazards, and fire protection systems.
  • Collaborate with advisors and underwriters to provide consultative risk improvement services and training.
  • Ensure assessments are completed efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with specified service standards.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients and internal staff to drive business growth and success.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and relevant fire and building codes.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in loss control/risk engineering, with a focus on commercial and farm risk.
  • Insurance-related loss prevention courses, such as Building Construction, Basic Hazards, and Special Hazards and Processes.
  • Specialized skills in trades or fire protection and prevention fields are an asset.
