About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Protection Social Worker Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Child Protection Services team, you will provide clinical and administrative supervision to Child Protection Social Workers and Administrative Support staff.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement case plans and participate in court interventions as required, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families.
  • Act on behalf of the Minister of Community Services to make decisions on the care of children at risk, working closely with Child Protection Social Workers and Program Specialists.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to effectively manage high-risk cases and provide excellent service to families.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures and protocols, identifying and recommending improvements in services and implementing the Child and Family Wellbeing Practice framework.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues, departments, and community organizations to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and at least five years of related work experience, or a Master of Social Work degree and at least three years of related experience. You must have a valid driver's licence, be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and possess strong leadership competencies and the ability to manage challenging situations under stressful circumstances.
