Job Title: Lead Automation Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for driving our robotic and automation projects forward. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan and coordinate daily and weekly tasks for the automation team.
  2. Commit 50% of time to the assembly, integration, and deployment of automation projects.
  3. Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Document issues and provide feedback on all aspects of a project.
  5. Act as the technical resource/point of contact for any issue regarding automation projects.
  6. Integrate automation components and configure automated systems.
  7. Conduct analysis of issues, suggest/implement solutions, and document effort to implement fixes.
  8. Execute on-site deployment and client support activities.
  9. Carry out quality control activities prior to shipping customer products.
  10. Collaborate with project managers to plan resources (timeline, space, deployment schedules, etc).
  11. Owning the workspace, ensuring it is well-organized and efficient.
  12. Helping to implement and enforce health & safety initiatives as well as guidelines.
  13. Continuously improving cleanliness and organization of the space, tools, and parts.
  14. Ensuring efficient cross-departmental collaboration.
  15. Identifying the strengths of team members and encouraging collaboration to share knowledge.
  16. Supporting with hiring, growing, and developing a team of passionate, coachable, and curious technicians.
  17. Assimilating well into Vention culture and maintaining a positive attitude in the face of obstacles.
  18. Being the role model for what a great Automation Technician is in terms of performance, time management, skills, knowledge, attitude, and work ethic.
  19. Leading by example and inspiring the wider team to follow you and operate at your level.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Technical diploma in mechanical engineering, automation, or robotics.
  • Proactive problem solver, capable of identifying/reporting issues and generating solutions.
  • Attention to detail in the context of customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Travel Requirements

Up to 20% of travel on-site.
