Job Title: Team Lead - Automation Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead - Automation Technician to join our team at Vention. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for driving our fast-paced robotic and automation projects forward. Your leadership skills, technical expertise, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan and coordinate daily and weekly tasks for the technician team to ensure efficient project execution.
  2. Commit 50% of your time to the assembly, integration, and deployment of projects, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  3. Document issues and provide feedback on all aspects of a project, including assembly, integration, testing, packaging, and deployment.
  4. Be the technical resource/point of contact for any issue regarding assembly, integration, testing, packaging, and deployment of robotic and automation projects.
  5. Integrate automation components and configure automated systems, ensuring seamless operation.
  6. Conduct analysis of issues, suggest/implement solutions, and document effort to implement fixes.
  7. Execute on-site deployment and client support activities, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  8. Perform quality control activities prior to shipping customer products, ensuring high-quality standards.
  9. Collaborate with Project Managers to plan resources, including timeline, space, deployment schedules, and more.
  10. Take ownership of the workspace, ensuring it is well-organized and efficient.
  11. Help implement and enforce health & safety initiatives and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment.
  12. Continuously improve cleanliness and organization of the space, tools, and parts, ensuring a productive work environment.
  13. Ensure efficient cross-departmental collaboration, identifying strengths and encouraging knowledge sharing among team members.
  14. Support hiring, growing, and developing a team of passionate, coachable, and curious technicians.
  15. Assimilate well into Vention culture, maintaining a positive attitude in the face of obstacles.
  16. Be a role model for what a great Automation Technician is, in terms of performance, time management, skills, knowledge, attitude, and work ethic, leading by example and inspiring the wider team.
  17. Up to 20% of travel on-site, collaborating with clients and teams to ensure project success.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  2. Technical diploma in mechanical engineering, automation, or robotics.
  3. Proactive problem solver, capable of identifying/reporting issues and generating solutions.
  4. Attention to detail in the context of customer satisfaction.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
