The Innovation and Product Development Senior Specialist is the technical leader responsible for driving innovation and product development at our Woodstock site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, plan, and carry out assigned process and/or product development projects
  • Conduct research and development activities to create new food products or improve existing ones
  • Conduct product trials, run development samples, and create initial product specifications
  • Participate in product sensory trials using internal and external panels
  • Apply corporate R&D policies and procedures
  • Identify new technologies of relevance for the organization
  • Identify and act on opportunities to reduce costs or optimize the performance of our products and processes
  • Act as a technical resource to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure liaison and collaboration with raw manufacturing plants to resolve issues and/or complaints
  • Help analyze information to support the development of new products
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in coordination with Regulatory
  • Other related duties as assigned or required

Requirements

  • A.Sc. in Food Science, Food engineering, or a related Science discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in R&D or product development for a food manufacturer, preferably in dairy food
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours when required
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft programs
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
