Job Title: Fire Safety Officer - Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Officer - Compliance Specialist to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular field inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective fire safety training programs for employees.
  • Collaborate with the IMS Director and M&R Director to ensure seamless integration of fire safety practices into our operations.
  • Provide safety orientation sessions for new employees.
  • Compile statistical information for the HSSEQ department.
  • Enter information into Atkins Realis systems and update all databases.
  • Lead the management of injured workers and the return-to-work process.
  • Carry out compliance auditing of contractors.
  • Implement, maintain, and ensure the effective operation of the M&R Safety Management Plan.
  • Ensure that OHS Audits are implemented as planned and as required by the Project Agreement.
  • Ensure actions are taken to address any non-conforming issues or improvements identified through OHS audits or inspections.
  • Ensure that a comprehensive and effective training plan is implemented on the Project to provide all personnel awareness of hazards in the workplace and how to eliminate or mitigate those hazards in their day-to-day work activities.
  • Maintain the system developed and implemented to verify where specific personnel certifications are required to meet regulatory requirements and that these certifications are in place and valid.
  • Ensure that safe work procedures are developed and implemented as required to protect personnel from hazards created by M&R activities.
  • Lead regular safety meetings held at various levels of the M&R organization.
