Job Summary

Verve Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Residential Receptionist to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residents, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and greeting residents and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answering and directing telephone calls in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Providing administrative support to the management team and other staff, including data entry, photocopying, faxing, filing, and minutes.
  • Assisting with the security of the residence by monitoring incoming and outgoing residents, guests, and other people.
  • Ensuring the reception area is kept neat and tidy.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail, accepting and signing for deliveries, and ensuring accurate paperwork flow.
  • Recording and storing lost property.
  • Implementing and maintaining systems for tracking guest meals, including revenues from services, added services, and special event revenue.
  • Communicating and public relations with residents, family members, staff, and the general public.
  • Assisting with the set-up and take-down of programs, activities, and special events.
  • Creating and distributing the daily resident census.
  • Maintaining necessary contact lists, including residents, emergency contacts, family members, and staff.
  • Maintaining effective communication, both written and verbal, with co-workers and supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Prior experience in a receptionist or clerical role within a hospitality setting is considered an asset.
  • Basic bookkeeping experience is preferred.
  • Proven typing and general office administration skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrates a strong ability to problem solve.
  • Comfortable and competent in receiving and transferring phone calls.
  • Proven computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite with an adaptability to handle database programs and emergency response systems.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
