Job Title: Full-time Board Member - Power Plant Operations and Maintenance
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-time Board Member - Power Plant Operations and Maintenance to join our team at Corby Spirit and Wine. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Chief Operating Engineer with coordinating Power Plant Operations and Maintenance activities to meet production and plant operations requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Operating Engineer with coordinating Power Plant Operations and Maintenance activities to meet production and plant operations requirements.
- Administer programs involving electrical, mechanical, general construction, and repair and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment.
- Ensure effective cost management for site Power plant and budget development and ownership.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and governing bodies.
- Assign and verify completion of routine maintenance/PM and operation of all mechanical, electrical, H.C systems and any other related equipment which contributes to the safe and effective operation of the facility.
- Assist with the administration of inventory control programs and systems.
- Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28) per Hiram Walker & Son's Ltd Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety Responsibilities.
- Provide necessary training.
- Develop and implement site-wide equipment standards for optimal efficiency and compliance.
- Comply with all HWS management systems and with all Health and Safety policies and legislation.
- Conduct regular inspections of operating mechanical, electrical and equipment systems; make necessary adjustments to operating equipment and controls.
- Provide for quality assurance by creating and implementing preventive maintenance programs and recommending improvements to existing programs on an on-going basis.
- Develop/maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
- Manage department work schedules, payroll, job administration, time off requests and employee time & attendance.
- Assign and monitor maintenance projects for employees.
- Deliver and manage budgets of CAPEX/OPEX projects.
- Assist in required projects and programs to ensure that the Department achieves its annual goals.
Requirements:
- 1st class Power Engineer certificate from the TSSA (will consider a 2nd class Power Engineer certificate with some 1st class examination completed with all 1st class time (24 months experience as a Shift Engineer in a first-class plant).
- ~5+ years of related work experience.
- ~ Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required.
- ~ Proficient in the use of computer systems.
- ~ May be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work, weekend and holidays work, and/or on call duties.
Software Skills:
- JD Edwards.
- Kronos.
- MS Office.
- Rockwell DCS Controls.
Personal Qualities:
- Awareness of relevant codes and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to make things happen, customer focus, team building and influencing and partnering.
- Project management relating to change and improvements in the Power Plant.
