About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Health Board Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of the Public Engagement and Community Health Boards Support team, you will provide critical support to community health boards to achieve their mandate as outlined in the Health Authorities Act and regulations.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in health education, public health, community development, or a related field. A bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience are required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of health promotion, the prevention continuum, and population health assessment. Experience in community health planning, community development, and community or public engagement is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support community health boards in facilitating a collaborative community health planning cycle
  • Apply the principles of community development and health promotion
  • Facilitate organizational development and assist with Board recruitment, volunteer support, training, and other functions
  • Support the Community Health Boards via tasks and guidelines outlined in the provincial CHB Operations Manual
