Registered Practical Nurse, Inclusive Recreation Specialist

Job Summary:

The City of Ottawa is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our Inclusive Recreation team. As a key member of our team, you will provide nursing care to participants in our Inclusive Recreation programs and regular recreation programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to participants in Inclusive Recreation programs and regular recreation programs
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure the health and safety of participants
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for participants
  • Provide education and support to participants and their families
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Inclusive Recreation programs and services

Requirements:

  • Completion of a 4-year B.Sc.N. degree or 2-3 year RN diploma or RPN diploma and proof of current license
  • Member of the Ontario College of Nurses
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in Special Needs/Pediatric/Rehab/Community with current technical/practical nursing skills
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates
  • Crisis Prevention/Intervention training certificate
  • AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
