Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Brightshores. As a member of our Float Pool, you will be assigned to work in various departments/sites to provide care to patients with stable and predictable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care within the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the inter-disciplinary team to promote health, assess, provide care, and treat health conditions.
  • Assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans to attain or maintain optimal function.
  • Administer medications, perform physical assessments, and provide supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
  • Adhere to Brightshores' 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies, promoting a culture of patient safety and respect.

Requirements:

  • RPN Certificate of Competence with the Ontario College of Nurses.
  • Ability to work at full scope of practice.
  • Physical Assessment Course or equivalent.
  • Competency in aseptic technique, urinary catheterization, administration of medications, IV therapy, POCT.
  • Excellent organizational, patient assessment, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.
