We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent to join our Supply Services team at BC Transit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and arranging transportation logistics to achieve timely delivery of materials, parts, and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and arrange transportation logistics to achieve timely delivery of materials, parts, and services
  • Conduct cost analysis and resolve receiving and billing discrepancies
  • Support the Supply Services group in achieving its objectives
Requirements
  • Courses completed in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, supply chain, or procurement
  • Experience in a computerized purchasing and inventory control environment
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
  • APICS, Supply Chain, or Procurement certifications is an asset
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement practices is an asset
  • Proven communication skills, both verbally and written
