Computational Biologist

At Recursion, we are at the forefront of reimagining drug discovery from first principles using our massive data and compute capabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join our portfolio-facing data science team.
You will be responsible for the evaluation of therapeutic hypotheses using internal and external data sources to validate the link between proposed targets and disease biology, guide multimodal SAR, decipher drug mechanism of action, and identify candidate biomarkers to measure in translational and clinical studies. You will partner with machine learning and computational scientists from across the organization to develop, deploy, and scale novel approaches to patient selection and indication expansion that match the medicines we are creating to the patients who need them.
In this role, you will:
- Design experiments, develop and scale new analysis methods, and drive key program decisions with the ultimate goal of bringing life-changing therapies to patients at unprecedented speed.
- Evaluate the molecular evidence for therapeutic hypotheses and accelerate drug program progression into the clinic, primarily in oncology.
- Architect quantitative analyses and experiment cascades that collect and combine diverse datasets to inform statistically-sound decisions at scale.
- Deliver biological insights on therapeutic candidates and disease biology that support stage gate decisions from the analysis of high dimensional (phenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, patient-derived) datasets.
- Present data analysis to decision makers and stakeholders in a clear and compelling way that drives toward getting medicines to patients.
- Industrialize analysis approaches to not only solve for the current project but also to accelerate future projects and scale the impact that we can have.
We are looking for individuals with a strong background in computational biology, systems biology, or bioinformatics, and experience in applying computational methods to analyze and integrate complex biological and/or human clinical data in a high-level programming language such as Python or R.
