Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Propak. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and pressure vessels that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct ASME pressure part strength and structural calculations related to HRSG/OTSG components.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all calculations required to substantiate the OTSG/WHRU design.
  • Lead vendor-related issues, including generating specifications and evaluating bids to ensure equipment integration into projects.
  • Prepare technical packages for pressure parts design registration (ASME, PED, etc.).
  • Review internal and customer interface drawings.
  • Dispose of shop non-conformances.
  • Provide input to the overall project schedule by creating and maintaining a schedule for engineering activities.
  • Review and implement engineering specifications.
  • Prepare progress and budget reports to senior management, including contract risks and opportunities.
  • Support operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Support OTSG erection, start-up, and testing.
  • Ensure each project meets the contract scope of supply and design specifications.

Requirements

  • A graduate of a recognized diploma in Mechanical/Process/Chemical Engineering program.
  • Professional Engineer in good standing.
  • 5+ years' experience in engineering design work related to power, process steam plants.
  • General knowledge of equipment for the oil and gas or petrochemical industry is an asset.

Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with usual weekday office hours. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines. The ability to deal with a diversity of people when responding to interdepartmental inquiries is required. Coping with frequent interruption and changing priorities is also necessary.
