About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Data Protection Director to join our Information Security department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the cross-functional and enterprise-wide data protection function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the data protection program, driving the overall strategy, methodology, and roadmap for data protection processes, systems, tools, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups and leadership to identify and classify sensitive data, and ensure it is appropriately tagged and protected.
  • Own the enterprise data protection strategy, policies, and standards, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate the data loss program for efficacy and serve as a subject matter expert on data protection standards.
  • Lead cross-functional team members through an indirect reporting relationship and review, prioritize, and recommend data protection improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or significant expertise in data protection through practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive and relevant work experience, with demonstrated leadership skills leading diverse information security teams/functions.
  • One or more relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, SSCP, CEH, etc.).
  • Understanding of legal, regulatory, and/or customer requirements for data protection.
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of data protection technologies and solutions.
  • Ability to identify and assess potential risks to data and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment.
