Job Summary

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrologist / Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our Fredericton office. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will work on a variety of projects, collaborating with geoscientists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of technical staff and provide technical expertise on complex hydrotechnical projects.
  2. Provide quality review of designs, proposals, and reports.
  3. Manage client relationships and lead critical delivery meetings.
  4. Coordinate project managers and other discipline leads to manage project deliverables.
  5. Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and environmental regulators on project-related work.
  7. Report to corporate management on project and financial performance.
  8. Participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Master's Degree in Water Resources, Hydrology, or Civil Engineering.
  2. 10 to 20 years of relevant experience.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  4. Demonstrated experience writing proposals, work plans, and reports.
  5. Proficient in analytical and modeling techniques and hydrotechnical aspects of project development, design, and operation.
  6. Proven project management skills with ability to track timelines, meet budgets, and schedules.
  7. Software experience in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE Flood, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD.
  8. Previous consulting experience is an asset.
  9. Currently registered with the Atlantic Professional Engineers Associations.
