Job Title: Distribution Sales Associate
Job Summary:
The Distribution Sales Associate is a key role within our organization, responsible for providing sales coverage to an assigned territory. This individual will focus on wholesale distributor branch locations and accounts, ensuring sales and marketing strategies and promotions are implemented with assigned accounts. The DSA will also assist with the execution of planned sales and marketing activities for the wholesale distributor locations, including counter-days, product demonstrations, trainings, and maintenance of point-of-purchase and advertising displays.
Responsibilities:
- Onboard and introduce new products to assigned wholesale distributor branch locations.
- Accountable for product trainings, demonstrations, counter days, trade shows, and lead generation/management.
- Generate and collect leads from counter days, tradeshows, branch staff engagement, or other sources; pass leads over to Regional Sales Reps and/or District Sales Managers for them to make contact and follow up on resulting opportunities.
- Help wholesale distributors maintain healthy inventories on all current product groups.
- Maintain, update, and utilize CRM Mobile Sales daily activity calendars to track information, including but not limited to documenting sales opportunities, entering sales call activities, linking customers, and keeping calendars up-to-date.
- Provide support to cross-functional teams as needed. Contributes to further adoption of EDI and VMI by Distributors within the District and the Regions.
- Execute regional and corporate objectives.
- Maintain monthly sales reports and business metrics; identifies business opportunities; reports on trends and new products.
- Increase market growth for contractors and distributors.
- Secure new business relationships and support current customers.
- Responsibility for maintaining accurate reporting and metrics.
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and relationship building skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and public speaking.
- Self-motivated; able to function autonomously and as a team player.
- Ability to interpret and forecast changes in wholesale distributor buying patterns and product requirements.
- Ability to give presentations in front of various groups.
- Ability to communicate with multiple levels within an organization.
- Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department.
- Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level.
- Knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP, and CRM.
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience:
College or University Degree required.
0-1 years product sales experience preferred.
Driver's License required.
May be required to travel overnight up to 40% of the time.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
