About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Certified Millwright to join our team at Canfor. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill's machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on all mill machinery and equipment, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, and chains.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, and implement safe and reliable fixes to minimize downtime.
- Manage your time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with the maintenance team to achieve common goals.
- Apply your knowledge and skills to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe and reliable fixes to keep the mill running.
- Have a high degree of attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Accountability for assisting in a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site.
Requirements:
- Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Mechanic.
- Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- High degree of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
- Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process is an asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability.
