About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Portfolio Development Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent relationship management skills, expertise in sales and marketing, and a strong understanding of Dealer Finance programs, products, policies, and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the development and profitable growth of the Dealer Finance commercial portfolio in the assigned market area by identifying qualified prospects and leads, developing business opportunities, and maximizing sustainable growth.
  • Pursue a business development program within the assigned portfolio of Dealers, focusing on direct selling of credit and non-credit commercial products, maintaining an ongoing sales pipeline, and ensuring effective follow-up with existing clients.
  • Build and maintain a market profile in the assigned market area with internal and external contacts, participating in related events and associations, and liaising with product specialists to fulfill identified client needs.
  • Ensure all aspects of assigned relationships receive ongoing attention, achieving customer satisfaction through strong knowledge of Bank products and services, active feedback solicitation, and compliance monitoring.
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned clients at an acceptable level of risk, developing credit proposals, reviewing credit reviews, and ensuring adherence to Bank policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Expert sales and marketing skills
  • Strong understanding of Dealer Finance programs, products, policies, and services, including knowledge of systems and platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of retail lending indirect and leasing products, as well as solid knowledge of other retail products
  • Strong credit skills and knowledge of Bank commercial lending and deposit products and services, and customer profitability model
  • Strong knowledge of the Automotive Finance marketplace in Canada and local market conditions
  • Undergraduate degree in business or economics, or work equivalency
  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • Valid driver's license
