Job Title: Intermediate Interior Designer

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team at CHIL Interior Design. As a key member of our interiors practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for hospitality and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our team to produce compelling presentations and design concepts that exceed client expectations.
  • Ensure design excellence standards are met through thorough research and analysis of design trends and best practices.
  • Represent CHIL Interior Design at client meetings and presentations, showcasing our expertise and creativity.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, project consultants, and team members to deliver project milestones and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and implement space planning strategies that meet program requirements and design considerations.
  • Assist in the development of 2D and 3D design concepts, with a focus on high-quality renderings and visualizations.
  • Support internal teams on various projects to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional client service.
  • Research and recommend finishes, furnishings, and equipment that meet functional, aesthetic, and budgetary requirements.
  • Prepare documentation for the selection, specification, procurement, and installation of furnishings and equipment.
  • Produce design development and contract documents, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
  • Stay up-to-date with local building codes, technical aspects, and design trends to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Mentor and train junior interior designers and technicians to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in all work produced.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to foster progression and innovation.
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma from a CIDA-accredited Interior Design program.
  • Minimum 4-7 years of industry experience in hospitality and residential interior design.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred, with preparatory studies or test costs eligible for firm support.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D graphic programs such as SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Previous experience with Revit is an asset.
  • Solid portfolio of diverse creative projects with emphasis on hospitality, residential, and F&B design.
  • Technically savvy, able to learn and master new programs and apps.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently and know when to reach out for guidance and support.
  • Able to work in a team and is a team-player.
  • Ready to receive and welcome coaching from supervisors and colleagues, assimilate feedback, and learn quickly from it.
  • Armed with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Passionate in design, positive outlook, collaborative, and patient individual.
