Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our team to develop compelling design concepts and presentations that exceed client expectations.
  • Ensure design excellence standards are met through thorough research and analysis of design trends and best practices.
  • Represent CHIL Interior Design at client meetings, providing expert design advice and guidance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, project consultants, and team members to deliver project milestones on time and within budget.
  • Develop space planning solutions that meet program requirements, functional needs, and design considerations.
  • Assist in the development of 2D and 3D design concepts, with a focus on high-quality renderings.
  • Support internal teams on various projects to ensure exceptional service delivery to our clients.
  • Research and recommend finishes and furnishings that meet project requirements, considering factors such as texture, light, color, and budget.
  • Prepare documentation for the selection, specification, procurement, and installation of furnishings and equipment.
  • Produce design development and contract documents, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
  • Understand building codes, life safety issues, and technical aspects of design, drawing, and details.
  • Complete contract administration tasks, including tendering and project close-out.
  • Mentor and train junior interior designers and technicians.
  • Meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in all work produced.
  • Develop and nurture supplier relationships and foster the progression of new and current materials.
Requirements:
  • A degree or diploma from a CIDA-accredited Interior Design program.
  • Minimum 4-7 years of industry experience in hospitality and multi-unit residential interior design.
  • NCIDQ certification is preferred, with preparatory studies or test costs eligible for firm support.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Windows, and 3D graphic programs such as Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Previous experience with Revit is an asset.
  • A solid portfolio of diverse creative projects, with emphasis on hospitality, residential, and F&B design.
  • Technically savvy, able to learn and master new programs and apps.
  • Self-directed, able to work independently and know when to reach out for guidance and support.
  • Able to work in a team and is a team-player.
  • Ready to receive and welcome coaching from supervisors and colleagues, assimilate feedback, and learn quickly from it.
  • Armed with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Passionate in design, positive outlook, collaborative, and patient individual.
