Job Title: Legal Assistant - Indigenous Community Liaison

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team at the BC First Nations Justice Council. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to our legal department, ensuring the smooth operation of our office and the delivery of high-quality legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the flow of information and maintain accurate records
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings, and court appearances
  • Maintain a secure and organized filing system
  • Prepare and key in correspondence, legal documents, and reports
  • Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
