We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Services team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources using skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
- Makes a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determines whether the condition can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention.
- Plans, performs, and evaluates nursing interventions and care.
- Collaborates with patients and their families/caregivers in developing the care plan and encourages family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of the care plan.
- Establishes a therapeutic relationship by demonstrating empathy, trust, and respect, advocating for the patient's rights to privacy, dignity, and access to information, and by ensuring the patient's choice and autonomy in decision making and care planning.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course, or post basic High Acuity Course, approved Arrhythmia interpretation course plus one (1) year's recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Basic Rescuer Certificate.
