About the Role
Honda Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Planning Specialist to join our team in Markham.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work within the Sales and Marketing department as a member of the Financial Control team, supporting the Division in all financial related activities. As a liaison between business and finance, you will act as a bridge between Executive and Divisional Management, ensuring alignment of budgets and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive budget reports, including sales gross profit budget and expense budgets, monthly working files with actuals, variance analysis, and profit and loss statements.
- Provide executive management support, participating in monthly program meetings, budget review meetings, and risks and opportunities documentation.
- Develop simulations and analysis for various levels of management, preparing executive summaries and presentations.
- Offer professional financial management support to assigned departments or groups, including monthly expense variance analysis, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Support business projects requiring FC involvement to ensure accurate costing and reporting.
Requirements
- Candidates should hold a college or university education, preferably in accounting, and possess a professional accounting designation (CPA) or be actively pursuing one.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in accounting or a related field, with strong financial expertise, ethics, and judgment.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Office, with SAP experience being an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex work.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the capacity to foster productive relationships with customers and internal departments.
- A high level of initiative, accuracy, and work ethic, with a proven standard of delivering difficult tasks on time.
Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
