About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Modelling and Reporting Specialist to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technology-based solutions for complex actuarial data analysis requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actuarial Data Analysis: Define actuarial data analysis requirements to support actuarial processes, working closely with business stakeholders.
  • Cloud-Based Modelling: Provide expert delivery and consultation around cloud-based actuarial modelling and software, collaborating with actuarial, application, and infrastructure specialists.
  • Technology Solutions: Design and implement technology-based solutions for complex issues related to data sourcing, transformation, and calculations, user design interface, and processing speed and stability.
  • Application Development: Plan and execute Python applications development, working closely with business subject matter experts and IT partners via an iterative prototype process.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documentation in tandem with application development.
  • Testing and Support: Provide expert support during testing phases, resolving identified issues, through to final approval.
  • Procedural Documentation and Training: Create procedural documentation and provide training to end-users and other key stakeholders.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Establish close and collaborative partnerships, sharing expertise and learnings throughout the development, testing, and maintenance phases.
What We're Looking For
  • Senior Data Scripting Skills: Experienced developer with senior data scripting skills (Python & SQL).
  • User-Focused Solutions: Ability to deliver user-focused solutions via an iterative and agile development approach.
  • Actuarial Reporting and Data Analysis: Understanding of actuarial reporting, data discovery, and analysis requirements.
  • User Experience Practices: User experience practices and design principles in the context of data analytics applications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work in a collaborative environment within core teams, including participating in daily team activity planning and management.
  • Structured Communication: Structured written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain technical concepts and results.
  • Technical and Non-Technical Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical resources.
