Heavy-Duty Truck Operator

At Waste Management, we're seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy-Duty Truck Operator to join our team in Carp. As a vital member of our operations, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of waste materials.
Salary: $33.02 per hour
Job Description:
We're looking for an individual who can operate a heavy-duty truck safely and efficiently on transfer routes. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Operating vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Performing pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report)
- Immediately reporting any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch
- Participating and cooperating in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager
- Working closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts
- Notifying Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
- Communicating customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager
- Positioning containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic
- FOLLOWING ROUTE ASSIGNMENTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND COMPLETING ALL DOCUMENTATION WHEN CHECKING-IN AT THE END OF THE ROUTE
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN
- Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher
- The CDL is a requirement, therefore, an applicant must be at least 18 years of age
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
- Acceptable driving record required
