Heavy-Duty Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Truck Driver to join our team at Waste Management in Carp. The successful candidate will operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of waste management services.
Job SummaryThis is a union role with an estimated salary range of $33.02/hour, based on industry standards and the location. The driver will be responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
The ideal candidate will have a valid DZ or Class 3 license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience operating a crane is an asset, but not required. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and RRSP matching.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using DVIR.
- Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Route Manager.
- Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
No prior work experience is required, but a valid DZ or Class 3 license and a clean driving record are essential. You must also be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN. A pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
