Farm Supervisor Job Description

GALIAB & SONS FARMS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our agricultural operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our farm workers and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality crops.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of farm workers and harvesting labourers to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain high productivity levels.
  • Ensure that all farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy working environment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control and production records to optimize crop yields and minimize waste.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Perform general farm duties as required, including tasks such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
Requirements:
  • College/CEGEP education in a relevant field, such as agriculture or a related discipline.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a farm supervisor or related role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively supervise and coordinate the work of farm workers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks and work in a variety of weather conditions.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced agricultural environment, with a focus on producing high-quality crops. The work environment will be physically demanding, requiring the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and perform manual labor tasks.

Language and Work Hours:

The primary language of work is English, and the work hours are 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a regular schedule, with some flexibility to accommodate changing farm operations.
