About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Worker to join our team at the Brantford Booth Centre. As a Case Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting men who require transitional housing and federal release programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an active caseload and provide individualized support to residents.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized plans.
  • Provide problem-solving and referral counseling to shelter and CRF clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and services to ensure seamless referrals.
  • Design and implement evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of our programs.
  • Assist front desk personnel as needed and respond to client issues and crises.
  • Record activities and incidents in a factual and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with emergency services when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to The Salvation Army's policies and procedures.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with 40 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required, and shifts may vary according to the needs of the role.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Possess current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience and Knowledge
  • Competent in word processing equipment and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community-based resources and social services.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with socially disadvantaged individuals and develop life plans with federal release clients.
  • Ability to establish and implement goals and plans for self and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and under supervision.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to forty pounds.
  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully.
