Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Financial Analyst to join our Financial Services Department at London Hydro. As a key member of our Accounting Group, you will be responsible for performing various financial and statistical analyses, as well as accounting and general ledger reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze corporate activities to ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards and internal financial reporting requirements.
  • Complete general ledger reconciliations and journal entries, and review cost centre operating activities to explain variances between budget and actual spending.
  • Monitor and analyze cost centre labour activities, including variance analysis and explanations.
  • Review and analyze year-over-year actual operating results and update narratives to explain changes.
  • Assist in monitoring corporate activities to pursue improvements in internal systems and controls.
  • Assist in the completion of monthly and year-end financial reporting, including working papers and external auditor inquiries.
  • Perform reconciliations, remittances, and annual reporting for various remittances, such as T4s, T5s, T4As, EHT, WSIB, OMERS, and HST.
  • Assist in the development of operating budgets, including performing analyses and projections, summarizing significant year-over-year changes, and providing explanations.
Requirements
  • You have completed a recognized CPA accounting program (CA/CMA/CGA) or are currently enrolled in the final level of the program.
  • You are proficient in utilizing an ERP system as well as Excel and Word.
  • You bring five (5) years of accounting and financial analysis experience.
