The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our AML/ATF department within Compliance, where you'll play a key role in managing the Bank's AML/ATF risk through effective controls. As an AML Officer, your responsibilities will include conducting testing and monitoring routines, quality assurance reviews, assessing unusual transactions, and providing support to business units. You'll work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects, requiring excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monitoring and testing routines of internal controls and QA reviews to ensure adherence to AML policies and procedures
- Analyze data from various sources to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement
- Provide support in implementing and managing an effective AML program
- Assist in planning and coordinating AML-related projects, including administration, communication, and reporting
- Identify best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you'll require:
- Post-secondary education in business or finance, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in AML Compliance at a regulated financial institution in Canada
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for AML/ATF and sanction risk, industry best practices, and organizational goals
- Advanced Excel skills, including ability to create macros and v-lookups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team, with strong attention to detail
- AML designation (CAMS) is preferred
