School Support Worker for Diverse Learners

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a casual educational assistant to provide support to students with exceptional needs. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized plans for students, and provide support and accommodations to ensure their success.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Supporting students with autism spectrum disorders and behaviour management programs
- Providing academic support and implementing special programs
- Working with teaching and professional staff to modify programs and support learning for students with disabilities
- Participating in pool programs, lifting, toileting, and outside yard duties
A community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent, and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience working with school-aged special needs children are required. American Sign Language Level 3 certification is also necessary.
