School Aide

As a School Aide - Special Needs, you will play a critical role in supporting students with exceptional needs in our schools. Your expertise in behaviour management, autism spectrum disorders, and developmentally delayed students will be essential in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, providing individualized support to students and assisting with academic tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent, and have a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience working with school-aged special needs children. American Sign Language Level 3 certification is also required. If you are committed to providing exceptional support to our students, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide individualized support to students with special needs
* Develop and implement personalized learning plans in collaboration with teaching staff
* Assist with academic support, including modifications and accommodations
* Participate in pool programs and other activities that promote socialization and physical activity
* Implement special programs and support deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students
* Conduct physiotherapy exercises and stretches as required
