Licensed Practical Nurse

At Lakeview Lodge Community, we are committed to providing exceptional care and services to our residents. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, working evenings.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- Ensure the safekeeping and control of medications and narcotics, and follow established protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Create a comfortable and safe environment that promotes resident dignity, autonomy, and individuality.
- Optimize each resident's potential to achieve or maintain maximum functional ability.
- Seek direction from the Registered Nurse when resident needs exceed the LPN's scope of practice.
- Exercise sound nursing judgment by reporting any change in resident status in a timely manner to the Registered Nurse, and take appropriate action.
- Foster an atmosphere conducive to optimal care and effective functioning of the assigned resident home area through collaboration with other team members, monitoring resident care, and communicating with residents and family members.
- Liaise with medical team members, nurse specialists, and consultants to support effective clinical care for all residents.
- Continually assess and improve nursing practice and learning needs.
- Participate in and attend in-service programs, conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Document priorities, target dates, and strategies or interventions on the individualized care plan to achieve the best possible outcomes for each resident.
- Work with residents, family members, and interprofessional teams to systematically collect data for the nursing history on admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment and documentation.
- Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
- Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS.
- Current First Aid with CPR.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
- Long Term Care Experience.
