Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a technical professional to join our dynamic sales team as a Field Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will work in a direct sales capacity, helping to achieve annual sales quotas within their assigned territory. This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise and sales skills, allowing the individual to build a long-term career as a quota-carrying sales professional.
The Field Sales Engineer will work closely with our US Territory Managers to develop and implement sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and provide exceptional customer service. They will also be responsible for conducting market research, analyzing data, and developing reports to support sales initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and outreach: researching potential customers, contacting professors and department heads, qualifying leads, and managing small and medium accounts
- Visiting schools, attending tradeshows, and networking to demonstrate Quanser's offerings and build relationships with faculty members
- Following up with prospects to advance them through the sales pipeline and report on lead status and opportunities
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in engineering education, proven experience in direct sales and/or sales support, and excellent communication and presentation skills. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and have a 'can-do' attitude. Additional requirements include:
- A post-secondary education from a recognized institution in engineering (control, mechanical, electrical, robotics, mechatronics)
- Experience working with CRM systems, market research, and data analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
