Job Summary

The Automation and Instrumentation Engineer is a key member of the Simplot Canada (II) Limited team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities. This role requires a strong technical background in automation and instrumentation, with a focus on process control and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance to instrumentation technicians, ensuring that all process instrumentation and controls are properly maintained and operated.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and optimize process control systems to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment throughout the facility, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning within specifications.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain Company standards for quality, food safety, sanitation, and GMPs, ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
  • Communication: Communicate project updates and technical information to senior management and key stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned with project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and automation, with a strong background in process control and optimization.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and Control Systems, with experience in DeltaV, Foundation Field Bus, ASi Bus, and DeviceNet, FactoryTalk, and other Rockwell Automation products.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
