Job Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse with RT Medical, you'll provide care to individuals who need assistance with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness. This role involves:

  • Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop care plans
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjusting as needed
  • Acting as a patient advocate to protect and promote patient rights
  • Traveling within your region to provide care to patients in their homes, clinics, or other settings
  • Performing other clinical duties as required
  • Delegating tasks as needed within your scope of practice
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing degree (BN), or be a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Have experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, or community nurse (considered an asset)
  • Be physically able to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, and lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently
  • Hold valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification
  • Have updated immunization records, including a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months
  • Pass a clear criminal background check and Vulnerable Sector check
  • Have excellent problem-solving, time management, and crisis resolution skills
  • Be able to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner
  • Hold a valid G2/G driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
