We are currently seeking a Senior Upstream Reservoir Expert to join our team in St. Johns, NL. About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing reservoir engineering support to developed reservoir areas as well as assessing the development of future reservoir area.

Responsibilities include conducting reservoir simulation (including model builds and history matching) and volumes forecasting, depletion planning and drill well evaluation, planning and execution, supporting ongoing regulatory compliance, and ensuring appropriate and accurate reporting of all functional information within area of responsibility.

  • Develop and implement plans to optimize reservoir performance, including identifying opportunities for improvement and conducting reservoir engineering assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate results into technical work and support upstream reservoir development in Eastern Canada.

What You Will Do

  • Provide expert advice on completion design, well stimulation, and artificial lift, as well as evaluate greenfield opportunities using exploration data.
  • Leverage your knowledge of geophysics, petrophysics, stratigraphy, and structural geology to support geological modeling and risk assessment.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that all aspects of the project are coordinated and managed effectively.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced reservoir engineer to join our team in St. Johns, NL. The ideal candidate will possess a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or another accredited engineering discipline in Canada, and have a strong understanding of economic analysis, reserves determination, and depletion planning.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or another accredited engineering discipline in Canada.
  • Experience with PTA / RTA, material balance, simulation, and nodal analysis software.
  • Familiarity with water / gas flooding sandstones, completion design, well stimulation, and artificial lift.
  • Working knowledge of geophysics, petrophysics, stratigraphy, and structural geology.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • 5+ years dedicated reservoir experience on operated assets.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and integrate results into technical work.
  • Strong leadership qualities consistent with the ExxonMobil Leadership Framework.
