Job Title: Health Care Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a Health Care Aide, you will provide support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to residents/patients in accordance with established standards of practice.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support residents/patients with mobility and transfer needs.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents/patients.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential.
  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
  • One to two (1-2) years' experience working in a health care setting preferred.
  • One to two (1-2) years' experience preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients preferred.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be exposed to physical and emotional demands of the job. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
