Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mould Maintenance Technician to join our team at Canplas Industries Ltd. This role will involve maintaining and repairing injection moulds, ensuring they are in good working condition and meeting production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair injection moulds, including cleaning, inspecting, and conducting minor repairs as necessary.
  • Prepare mould bases for production, updating mould base files with current information.
  • Restock inventory on a weekly basis.
  • Inspect incoming moulds for quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare mould bases for the Mould Shop as per their request.
  • Follow and carry out HWIN Manifest Procedure.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience disassembling and reassembling injection moulds, motors, or similar.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work comfortably with hand tools and various power tools.
  • Computer skills with basic knowledge of MS Excel and Word, Outlook email, etc.
  • Forklift experience and previous Overhead Crane Certification are assets.
  • Minimum Class G License required.
  • Ability to lift and handle 50 lbs. blocks of steel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with moulds with slides, lifters, mechanical pull, and set operations.
  • Experience working with jigs and fixtures.
Working Conditions

This role requires a high degree of mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50lbs alone. Fast-paced environment with a considerable amount of sensory attention required. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, odours, cold, dust, noise levels, and the use of sharp tools.

Semi-climate-controlled production plant environment. Standing majority of the shift on concrete floors. Lifting - light to heavy (up to 85 lbs). Mandatory Hearing Protection Provided.
