Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team at Good Samaritan South Ridge Village. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional resident/client care that acknowledges individual choice, dignity, privacy, independence, spirituality, and individuality in a home-like environment.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care planning
- Engage residents/clients in activities of daily living, respecting their autonomy and preferences
- Provide support with bathing, dressing, meal service, grooming, and portering as needed
- Promote teamwork by sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance resident/client care
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Recognized Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent
- Grade 12 or GED
- First Aid training
- Registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory (Alberta) or BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry (BC)
- Food Safe Basic or equivalent (Alberta) or Food Safe 1 (post July 29, 2013) or equivalent (BC)
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact positively with residents/clients, family members, visitors, and team members
